Oilers vs. South El Monte
Montebello High School Freshman Baseball team put on a strong performance Tuesday afternoon defeating the visiting Eagles 10 - 0 in a game that was stopped after 5 innings. Pitcher Daniel Contreras
pitched 5 strong innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 5 and also collected 3 hits at the plate. Catcher Roque Martinez had 2 doubles and left fielder Gabriel Romero had 3 hits and 3 runs scored.

The Oilers led 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning but were unable to hold on as the Dons put up 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning and one in the 6th. The Oilers played a strong defensive game but wre unable to come up with enough timely hitting.
Oilers vs. Schurr H.S.
The Oilers improved their league record to 2-0 by defeating the Schurr Spartans 6-4 Tuesday afternoon. Pitcher Daniel Contreras pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits over seven innings. Center Fielder Sylvestre Sanchez added 3 hits and had a terrific catch in center field for the visiting Oilers.
Oilers vs. Bell Gardens
Strating pitcher Robert Garcia Pitched strong 5 innings to lead the Oilers over visiting Lancers. The Oilers led 5-0 after two innings and continued to play strong defense to go along with some timely hitting. Final score was 11-2. MHS is now 3 - 0 in league play.
Oilers vs. Mark Keppel
MHS moved to 4 - 0 in league play by defeating the visiting Aztecs 27 - 0 in a game that was stopped after 5 innings of play. The Oilers will take on the Alhambra Moors on Friday @ Moor Field in Alhambra. Alhambra is also 4 - 0 in league play.

MHS took an early 3-0 lead then surrendered 10 straight runs to the Moors and trailed 10-3. Montebello rallied back to get the score 10-9 but eventually lost 11-9. The Oilers now trail the League leading Moors by one game.
Oilers vs. Monrovia (non-league)

In a non-league contest MHS prevailed in a 7-3 victory over visitng Monrovia High School on Wednesday afternoon. MHS was able to score 6 runs in the first 3 innings of play and never looked back. The Oilers were led by shortstop Joey Gonzalez who had a single and a double, Pitcher Daniel Contreras who pitched 5 strong innings and catcher Roque Martinez who added two hits for the Oilers. Montebello resumes league play Tuesday @ Montebello City Park vs.Schurr High School at 3:15pm. MHS Frosh are currently 6 - 1 in league play.

Oilers vs. Schurr H.S.
Montebello High school resumed league play by putting on a strong performance defeating the visiting Spartans 12-2 in five innings of play. Right Fielder Robert "Ritchie" Garcia led the way with four hits and 4 RBI's for the Oilers. Second basemen William Garcia had a double a also drew two walks for MHS. The Oilers are now 7-1 in league play and looking strong.

MHS started the contest by putting up 22 runs in the first two innnings and eventually won 35-4. Daniel Contreras pitched a strong game for the Oilers and had two hits at the plate. Center Fielder Silvestre Sanchez had four hits for MHS including two triples and a double. Third baseman Tonatio Monroi played great defense and reached base all six times at the plate.

Strating pitcher Robert Garcia Pitched 4 solid innings to lead the Oilers over visiting Lancers. The Oilers led 2 - 0 after five innings and struggled early at the plate. The visiting Lancers committed 4 errors in the Sixth inning and allowed 12 runners to score in the inning making the score
14 - 0. Third baseman Tonatio Monroi had a 3-run triple to cap off the sixth inning rally. LHP Silvestre Sanchez pitched two strong innings in relief. MHS is now 9-1 in league play.

The OIlers trailed 6-2 heading into the 6th inning but were able to tie the game on a single by second baseman Sergio Gamiz. MHS had a lead off triple in the bottom of the 7th by Gabriel Romero but were unable to get the winning run home. OIlers are now 10-1-1 in league with 3 games left in the season.

27 - 1 in a game that was stopped after 5 innings of play. MHS trails Alhambra by 1 1/2 games in league play. Alhambra is 13-0 in league play. MHS must win its last two games vs. Alhambra to win the league championship.

MHS was able to score 5 runs in the first inning and held on to defeat the visiting Moors 6-1. Starting pitcher Silvestre Sanchez pitched 6 shutout innings and also had a big triple in the first inning. Center Fielder Daniel Contreras had two hits and threw the last inning in relief. Visiting Alhambra entered the game 13-0 with a
1 1/2 game lead for first place. With the win the Oilers now trail Alhambra by only 1/2 game for first place. Friday's game will decide the league championship.
